TRAIN THE TRAINER
Facilitators - Michael Ford, CFPIM, CSCP, CLTD and Joe Shedlawski, CPIM, CLTD
Purpose
The purpose of the Train the Trainer Workshop is to provide you with a successful and workable methodology that you can apply to any subject in which you may have to train people. It is intended to enhance your professionalism and effectiveness as a trainer.
Training, Not Education
Please be aware that this is a matter of training, not education. Training deals with the how to while education deals with the why. Training results in observable/measurable behavior on the part of the learner. This workshop is a hands-on, do-it-yourself, no-nonsense, intense experience. It consists of two full days of training activities, as well as pre-workshop assignments.
Workshop participants will accomplish the following objectives:
- Write instructional objectives
- Formulate lesson plans to support the objectives
- Learn the four step training process
- Gain an understanding of the appropriate use of audio-visual aids
- Identify effective classroom layout
- Understand both formal and informal feedback mechanisms.
Whether you are a novice or experienced trainer, college professor, department manager, sales representative or anyone who communicates to an audience, this workshop is sure to provide value-added tips, tools and techniques that will improve your presentation skills!
The workshop will be held from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Friday August 23 & Saturday August 24, at County College of Morris, Randolph, NJ. Register online at apics-gnj.org. Registration is $699 for all APICS members and $899 for non-members.
