Bringing life-changing medicines to millions of people, Novartis sits at the intersection of cutting-edge medical science and innovative digital technology. With a strong medicine pipeline, their mission is not just to deliver growth for the business but continue to bring innovative medicines to patients quickly. However, the approach to Supply Chain for innovative medicines is complex and faces multiple challenges; short expiry timelines, live tissue transport, cold chain storage and in some cases radioactivity precautions.
Two senior Supply Chain leaders will share key insights into the nature of Supply Chain for innovative medicines and how it is tackled at Novartis.

Gokhan Cakmak is the Head of Supply Chain, North America at Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Novartis Company. He maintains 20-plus years of supply chain expertise in automotive, medical device, and pharma industries. Gokan has been with Advanced Accelerator Application for over 7 years working in East Hanover, NJ campus. He earned his Executive MBA from Sabanci School of Management in Istanbul and received his Industrial Engineering degree at Gazi University in Ankara Turkey.

Jorge Ryzwaniuk is the Head of Supply Chain for Cell and Gene Therapies at Novartis. He has held leadership roles across South America at some of the most prominent life sciences companies including, Johnson and Johnson, Shire and Boston Scientific, most recently as the Country Supply Chain Head of Brazil. Jorge holds an Executive MBA from the Universidade de Sao Paulo taken across Emylon Business School and the University of Cambridge and a Bachelors in International Trade and Logistics from UADE.
