Millennials – Must I “Re-train to Retain?”

The millennial generation, or those roughly 35 years old and younger, comprise almost a third of our workforce, but due to the retirement of the largest generation ever (baby-boomers), millennials will make up over 2/3 of the workforce in the next 10-12 years! As the first generation of “digital natives,” Millennials have been known to place some unusual demands upon their management. Not only do they seek very technology-enabled work, they have also been known to seek more flexibility, less-hierarchical organizations, faster career movement and work that is deeply fulfilling. Employers who do not provide these elements may find the “revolving door” just spinning for their younger workers.  Based on the speaker’s hiring and teaching experience, this PDM will cover insights about this generation of the workforce, and what you can do to recruit, retain and develop your best young workers.
