The Amazon Effect
The “Amazon Effect” has led supply chain customers to expect 24/7/365 ordering with next day fulfillment for all of their purchases. As trading partners struggle to compete in such a digitally driven environment, the promise of technological advances clash head-on with the realities of supply chain basic principles. Next-generation supply chains will be built understanding that DELIVER, MAKE, and SOURCE echelons each have different challenges and thus different solutions.
