Greater North Jersey APICS & Rutgers Newark Student Chapter of APICS Present:
"Are You Smarter Than a Supply Chainer?"

Our program will be a fun, educational and interactive quiz competition. As mixed teams of attendees race north along major Manhattan avenues in their “Virtual Taxi Cabs”, they will work together to: develop answers to a variety of Supply Chain questions; learn the correct answers; and understand why those answers are the right ones. Regular and “Red Light Challenge” questions will be drawn from today’s headlines as well as the ISM and APICS bodies of knowledge, and will cover Sourcing, Production, Quality, Transportation, Logistics, and International Supply Chain topics. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishing team’s members.
What Will You Will Learn:
- A glimpse of material embodied in Supply Chain Certifications
- A thorough understanding of the length & depth of the extended Supply Chain and the many career options
- Experience the certification question format
- Networking in a team problem-solving environment

- All business students… and those still undecided
- Anyone involved in managing a Supply Chain function, including Sourcing, Production, Inventory, Distribution and Logistics,
- Those in transition, and those contemplating a career change

George Yarusavage, DLP, CTL, C.P.M., CPIM has held a number of transportation, logistics, and purchasing management positions in his 40-year career. Currently he is a Principal in Fortress Consulting, an Executive Consultant to the CATTAN Services Group, and an Instructor for the American Management Association. His most recent assignments have updating AST&L’s Global Logistics Associate course materials; and a variety of executive training and consulting engagements. He has authored a number of published articles on risk management, supply chain management, transportation management, and professional development.
George’s corporate positions prior to establishing Fortress include: North American Manager of Logistics for M-real USA; Manager of Transportation Procurement for Verizon Wireless; Sourcing Manager for NBC; and Director of Technical Logistics for NBC Olympics, where he won an Emmy for his work. He has a BS in Logistics from Penn State, an MBA from NYU, and has earned three logistics certifications: the CTL (Certified in Transportation & Logistics) from AST&L, the CPIM from APICS, and his lifetime C.P.M. from ISM. He is currently pursuing his CPSM from ISM and last year was named an Honorary Distinguished Logistics Professional (DLP) by AST&L.
George is currently a member of the national APICS Board of Directors and was the final Chairman of the Board for AST&L, where he had previously served as President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Program V.P. He is also a past President, Secretary, and Education Chair of the CSCMP NYCONN Roundtable; and is currently Treasurer, Joint Program Coordinator, and a Past President of ISM-7 Counties. In addition, he is the Treasurer of the ISM NY/NJ Forum.
